Description: |
The task set by the competition brief was to design an ephemeral structure that would be a movable, demountable platform for various events for the city of Athens during the 2004 Olympic Games. The structure is designed in a way to generate cultural events, such as music and dance performances, open-air theatres with seating for up to 500, exhibition space, etc. The platform of the stage is combined of nine parts, any of which can move separately by means of a controlled hydraulic system. The steel structure is roofed with a polyurethane fabric membrane. |
