Description: |
One of the main goals of the design of a conference centre building for a large software company, Hungarian-based Graphisoft, was creating a significant architectural symbol reflecting the investor's innovative approach, that would complete the already existing technology park of the company. Set at the bank of the Danube river, the building resembles a water creature in its floor plan. Thank to utilizing an unfinished wharf crane base structure it is partially hung above water. It can be accessed not just by car from the park side or by foot or bike from the riverside walkway but also with a small craft or a motor boat straight from the river – thank to a floating stage attached to the structure. The main entrance leads from the land side to the foyer, connecting to the viewing terrace to the river. The building houses a multifunctional auditorium for 300 person with amenities and a restaurant functioning also as a jazz club. |
